Game Recap/Notes: Game #78. Pistons 89 - Heat 107. 41 - 36.

Well that was disappointing. I'm afraid for the potential of a playoff series being on national TV, because the Pistons have crapped the bed each time they've been on national TV. On the plus side, the Bulls lost, so the Pistons magic number is now 2.

'

Box Score.

'

Reggie Jackson: Ended up being a pretty ok game for Reggie. Scoring 21 points on 22 equivalents, just 3 assists but 0 turnovers. Goran Dragic had a much better game than he did but a lot of that is also on Steve Blake (-_-) but regardless, he did not exactly have a very good defensive effort (a theme tonight.) I don't know, his numbers say he did ok, but watching the game it just looked like he really struggled. But he did end up getting some buckets in the end so props to him for that.

'

KCP: Was a flaming piece of crap. He did nothing good on offense, and Wade's herky-jerky. strong, old man game gave him issues on defense, which meant he never really did much good on defense either. These are exactly the types of games he needs to cut out if he is ever going to become anything more than just "a nice role player".

'

Marcus Morris: For tonight, I can't even call him greater. Only for tonight but still. He also was a flaming piece of crap. I do appreciate that his flaming piece of crap at least was gotten by largely at least trying to drive to the hoop and create stuff, and if there was any justice in the world he would have gotten at least a couple more assists. But still. Flaming piece of feces.

'

Tobias Harris: Was not a flaming piece of crap. Was actually really good. 21 points on 12 equivalents, 7 boards, and 2 assists. I wish he had pushed for his shot a little bit more, but this has been a complaint about Tobias his whole career, is that despite how skilled a scorer he is, he is just not the sort of dude to drop a ton of points all that often. Regardless, a really nice game for Tobias. He is still too high on defense and gets blown by when closing out or defending the PnR, but he played a really nice game.

'

Andre Drummond: Only played 30 minutes, and played fine really. 12 points on 12 equivalents, 13 boards. Whatever. His defense was not the issue for the Pistons tonight either, not by a long shot. He was largely doing his thing, but the Pistons defense was even leakier than it usually is on the perimeter, and he can only do so much. (Which is largely the story of the season for him) Nothing all that impressive, and you would like to see him do better in the minutes that Stat played but it was not bad.

'

Anthony Tolliver: Hit 1 shot. Which means he was at least a little useful. But he wasn't that useful, here is a trend coming up. The bench has been killing the Pistons all year, and if they make the playoffs, where teams are really locked in, and gameplanning just for your team, the bench will literally be painful to watch.

'

Stanley Johnson: Was a flaming piece of crap. Not really, he was a rookie. He made several nice defensive plays, and several really nice moves to the hoop, he just could not freaking finish them. The bench is going to be a problem.

'

Steve Blake: He did hit his 2 shots. But Spoelstra showed some smart coaching by leaving in Dragic to play with Richardson when Blake was in so that they had no where to hide him on defense, he was predictably torched. The bench is going to be an issue.

'

Aron Baynes: Kind of a bright spot because he ended up with 10 points, but it was unfair (which, I mean, it is) when he was against Whiteside. The bench is going to be an issue, but it probably won't be Aron Baynes fault.

'

Darrun Hilliard: Played some real minutes and then trash minutes due to KCP being a flying piece of crap. And he actually played really well. He showed off his potential to be a really nice offensive player by hitting a couple spot up looks and also making some nice plays as the ball handler.

'

Bullock, Dinwiddie, Anthony: Don't totally get why SVG demoted Bullock back to the very end of the bench but whatever. Joel Anthony is alive. And I guess this ends the hopes I had that Dinwiddie was still kind of hurt and Blake was only playing because of that.

'

General: Ugly, bad loss. It is not a big deal, these things happen, even in the middle of a playoff race on national TV. But that doesn't make it ok.

'

What do you think? Who do you know who was a flaming piece of crap today? Let me know! We all get smarter!
